Are you looking for peace and nature? Here you will find a property for all seasons, a place where you can still experience silence from everyday life and only the sounds of nature.
We are selling a detached house in the countryside, in the Canaili area of north-east Gallura (hinterland Costa Smeralda).
The "old school" Casa Canaili is situated on the heights just 6 km outside the traditional village of Luogosanto ("holy place") and belongs to the municipality of Luras. The detached, well-maintained house, a former country school, comprises approx. 114 sqm of living space. With the former school hall, it has a large light living room (46sqm), two bedrooms (24 and 9sqm), a kitchen-living room (23sqm), which is also the entrance, a bathroom (4,5sqm), another bathroom (4sqm) and a pantry (2sqm) as well as 4 terraces (ca.50sqm), one for each position of the sun.
It is a school building built in the 60s in massive construction (granite and hollow block) with bright and high (3m) rooms, which was carefully remodelled and renovated in 1985. The roofs were renewed in 2018. The floors in the small bedroom and pantry were re-tiled in 2021. In 2022, the former utility room was extensively converted into a new bathroom with a shower at ground level. At the same time, new waste and supply water pipes were laid and the last old lead pipes were replaced. Furthermore, the house is equipped with a large fireplace and a powerful wood stove (9 KW) (own wood), it has a municipal electricity supply, SAT reception, WLAN via mobile hotspot as well as water supply from the municipal pipeline (municipality of Luras). In addition, there is a private tank reserve of 6,000 litres. The landscaped garden merges into a small forest (Boschetto) with an old stand of holm oaks and a variety of plants from cyclamen to orchids, laurel to rock roses and butcher's broom. A magnificent cork oak also provides shade for the east-facing terrace and adorns the overall property of approx. 1,200 sqm, which is rich in trees. If required, the total plot area can also be reduced or, alternatively, another plot can be acquired from the neighbour (e.g. for garden, horse paddock, beekeeping). From the east-facing terrace, the view extends to the Costa Smeralda, the impressive mountain range near San Pantaleo and the town of Arzachena. There is also an outdoor solar shower in the garden.
The "Old School" Casa Canaili is situated in a sparsely populated area, surrounded by meadows, pastures and woods. Altitude approx. 470m, on the way to Lago die Liscia. There is a farm within sight. Airport and ferry port in Olbia are about 45 minutes away by car. The extensive beaches of the north coast at Vignola Mare, which are also interesting for water sports enthusiasts, can be reached in about 30 minutes, and the Marina Cannigione in the east on the Gulf of Arzachena with its lovely beaches and bays in 35 minutes.
In the immediate vicinity there are archaeological highlights (e.g. gigantic tombs, nuraghi and museums) as well as tourist attractions (e.g. Porto Cervo, Porto Rotondo) and magnificent scenic attractions such as the Olivastri millenari (millennia-old olive trees), the Santo Baltolu, the Monte Limbara massif with a height of up to 1,363m or the La Maddalena National Park.
The pretty village of Luogosanto with its granite houses and Spanish balconies, whose life is characterised not least by the festival calendar of the important Basilica Minor (including Festa Manna at the beginning of September), can be reached in less than 10 minutes by car.
There you will find restaurants, bars, all shops for daily needs such as bakery, butcher's shop, pasticceria, a small supermarket, as well as a pharmacy, doctor's office, herberia, library, carpenter's workshop, car repair shop, craft shops, small boutiques and much more.
You acquire a fully equipped and continuously modernised house with all the necessary things for daily life.
